With that cook book we now really need an episode of Steve and Liz trying to make one of the dinosaurs called "Your Cakes Are Wrong"

I have to admit, I nearly died laughing at Steven's reaction to the Godzilla roaring plush and the cake book. Especially at that "Iguanodon" cake. 😃

I am the person who sent the book! I couldn't figure out how to put a note with it from the website so I just...didn't. Your reaction to the, er, "Iguanodon" was everything I hoped for.

There's something very amusing to me about the way you said "this is the second coprolite someone has given me". Like, "If I had a nickel for every time someone mailed me a coprolite, I'd have two nickels. Which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice"

The frog you're thinking of is the Suriname toad. The mother lays the eggs, which are then embedded in her back by her mate. The eggs develop anf hatch into tadpoles, which stay in the pockets until they reach full toad status. The mother then sheds the layer of skin the pockets were in.

Yoshi’s full name is “T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas” which can be assumed to be his/their scientific name.

Woah my favorite dinosaur! Megalosaurus bucklandii the absolute dinosaur OG. Only 1600s kids will remember, good ol' days.

I feel like "reach donation goal *x* for a YDAW bake-off" could be a viable compromise. Because I admit, I was audibly disappointed when Steven said he wouldn't be making a dino cake.

I definitely feel like torturing Steven by having to deal with really old dinosaur discoveries.

12:29 Thats Rudy from Ice Age 3 :D He should be a Baryonyx an massively Oversized Albino Baryonyx
18:36 The Complete Speciesname of Yoshi is "T-Yoshisaurus Munchakoopas"
32:55 Tlatolophus Gallorum is a Newly discovered Dinosaur who was related to Parasaurolophus from Mexico its gotDiscovered earlier this Year with a relativly complete Skull. Tlatolophus shares many anatomical features with the Chinese Parasaurolophus Charonosaurus so thats therorised that Charonosaurus even had just a Headcrest like Tlatolophus .

I have the dinosaur cake book. I say I; having bought it, I added post-it notes to the particular cakes I wanted and gave it to my aunt. Some time in our thirties, my cousin and I shared a birthday cake. He is a musician. My aunt made him a banjo (easier than a guitar and four tuning pegs so a lollipop for each child at the party) and had the banjo being attacked by dinosaurs.

In the best way possible, Steven reminds of what a human Manny from Ice Age would look/ sound like. His reaction to the art is wonderful, and I also love his and Liz's interactions.

"That's the second coprolyte someone has given me"
That's some literal weird sh-t!

The spinosaurid is actually Rudy from Ice Age. I believe he's supposed to be baryonyx but I'm not sure. One of my favorite stylized depictions.

These episodes are pure gold for fans of unboxing videos.

12:30 I used to have that same exact toy when I was little! I used to use the jaw-opening feature to crush skittles.

The second box has all the toys I used to have! The moving armed dude was a “villain” from Ice Age, that weird movie.

Not comprehensive, but...

1:48 - Giganotosaurus, by Schleich (small version 2015)
2:05 - Megalosaurus, by Invicta as noted (Invictas were really cool; they're dated but really nicely sculpted)
2:47 - no idea, generic playset or "party favor" minis?
3:24 - Megalosaurus, by Collecta (2021, brand-new!)
4:00 - Megalosaurus, by Toyway (folks, this is what the Invictas and WALKING WITH toys got replaced by. *sob*)

7:00 - the ceratopsian might be Menefeeceratops (appropriately) and the ankylosaur and hadrosaurs might be Invictarx & Ornatops, respectively (thx Wiki)
10:52 - I have those cards! They show up in lots of bookstores and gift shops. I remember seeing those dino illustrations in a lot of kids's books and sticker books.
11:43 -
12:10 - Rudy, from ICE AGE 3; dunno the manufacturer (Honkin' big Baryonyx in the film, if that's the genus he's supposed to be)
12:40 - Placerias, unknown party toy brand (It looks modeled after the WWD design; Everything dinosaur carries this model)
13:00, 13:52, 14:15, 14:57 - more (customized) party bin toys? (The one at 14:28 I always classified as Ornithosuchus, a primitive archosaur)
14:00 - Ornitholestes, looks like a knockoff from Chap Mei
14:45 - Velociraptor, Safari ltd Dinos Toob

16:50 - ??? Maybe a dollar store chinasaur
17:35 - here I thought it was bad getting Dimetrodon mixed up with Spinosaurus...
19:25 - just display it with some predators as a cleaned-out carcass.

21:40 - Achelousaurus, by Collecta/Procon - except this one looks like a knockoff
22:10 - Styracosaurus, also by Collecta/Procon (2007 - they've made a better one since)

23:50 - as soon as they said it had sound, I just KNEW it would be that.
24:13 - Allosaurus, by Safari ltd. (2019; gorgeous model, probably best Allo toy on the market)
25:08 - Brachiosaurus, by Safari ltd. again (2010)

26:30 - oh, those cakes are CURSED. ....I think I want one.
29:42 - that Yangchuanosaurus might be a Steve Kirk trace.

38:30 - that is a GORGEOUS little model. I'd love to see that get mass-produced somehow.

Fun video; dinosaur toys are a delight!

12:07 i’m not sure if you found out since filming this video, but that thing is from Ice Age 3, so they definitely weren’t trying for accuracy
