Oh god, this is worse than the time Drew tried playing Vanilla Victoria 2...
This really isn't the type of game that you can just jump into blind. It's basically a complex web of cause-and-effect where you're supposed to make gradual small changes to the laws, government structure, funding, trade deals, industrial focuses, etc.
When you make large changes, the game basically has a fit and reality falls apart. The numbers stop meaning anything to the point where half the game is spent trying to figure out which menu is giving you accurate info.
That being said I love the sheer wackiness that the game can devolve into. It's very entertaining to watch an experienced player (ie, not Drew lol)
