I love that CHIM is realizing you're playing a video game and deciding to either quit it and go outside or mod the hell out of it and become whatever you want.

Gorgeous Sheogorathian quote there:
"Let me be clear. Inhabitants of the shivering Isles are affected by time, but we are not *subject* to it. We are *subjects* of Lord Sheogorath, who *subjects* us to whatever *subject* he is in the mood to *subjugate* . Because time is *subjective* ."

I like how most "immortals" in fantasy universes usually dont make it past a couple thousand years because some adventurer comes around and kills them for loot.

There is another way: Should you be physically, mentally, ideologically and magically suited to doing so, and be somehow privy to the secrets of the transformation, you could perhaps become an *Ideal Master.* Whether you would ever be allowed to learn their necromantic secrets, or would have to figure them out yourself would be up to the capricious crystals, but should you attain their knowledge, and be able to put it to use, then you too could become immortal.

If there's one thing that the elder scrolls universe has always done really well in my opinion is the lore surrounding it's own cosmology and astronomy.
Most other fantasy universes usually keep at least some of our own universe's laws regarding how outer space, stars and planets work. The inky blackness between celestial bodies is often still a vacuum of empty space and stars are often still balls of plasma.

However when you start to learn about anything you see in the sky in an elder scrolls game, every single scrap and remnant of real world knowledge pretty much gets thrown away and replaced it with myth and magic.

Would anybody else love to have the option to become a Lich in TES 6? Imagine having a questline involving gathering the nessacary items and creating a phylateracy.

So, to achieve Chim is essentially the realisation that you are a character in a video game created by Todd Howard.

Huh. The apotheosis of Todd. Trippy.

I would just like to point out that elves can naturally live 600+ years, as written in some books in the games written by Barenziah herself. It's also to be noted that the 200-300 years mentioned by some of the devs was meant as in elves often die by that time from disease or wars, not of old age. So technically 200 years is young for a dark elf

Knight-Paladin Gelebor is a mystery. <detect living> and <detect dead> spells and effects don't have any effect on him. May as well be a rock, even chickens show up under spell effects, but not him.

"weather or not Jyggalag is defeated, grey march ends with a mortal mantling Sheogorath"
Actually in a ESO loremasters interview Haskil implies that when a hero attempts to mantle Sheogorath and fails to stop the grey march (which was every single case until champion of cyrodiil), that he becomes Haskil, or more accurately Haskil is the vestige of he who tried to mantle Sheogorath.
When grey march ended Jyggalag simply became Sheogorath once more, they shared body/animus until shivering isles expansion.
