Abandoned Toys R Us - Highland Park, IL. This store closed in 2018 when the chain filed for bankruptcy. There was a wave of closures to start before the company would close all locations just months later. At one point in time, this shopping center was much different than it is now. My friend, Jon, tells the story of this place.

I used to shop in this store - I worked in Highland Park almost 15 years ago and went there a few times to buy Christmas and birthday gifts for my nieces. I don't remember it being very busy those days, but seeing it empty like this is sad. They all used to have so much life and energy in them!

Hey Wallie! So I was driving around Davenport Iowa and I saw an abandoned Walmart. It was like a 90's style one. Its right by a Sams Club that is still active. I just thought that I would share that to you because you are in the Illinois area. I hope you visit it.
