Tengen is like 198cm (6'6") tall. I didn't realize those blades were as big as they were, but when you factor in Tengen's size, it makes sense why they look smaller than they are.

That hole is used when Tengen uses his breathing forms which includes his bombs being hit and exploding repeatedly by hitting and slicing the bomb balls itself with the holes of the blade, This stops the bombs from damaging the blade itself and wounding Tengen. It takes extreme eye to hand precision and accuracy which really shows how Unique and strong Tengen is, It also explains the explosions from his sound breathing. Fun fact, tengen continuously breaks the sound barrier with each slash when he uses his breathing form, this explains the loud explosions coming from his attacks.
