On the Oder River in western Poland is the city of Wroclaw. It is renowned for its opulent townhouse-lined market square, the Great Ring. The market square has a contemporary fountain as well as the Gothic Old Town Hall with a sizable astronomical clock. The Raclawice panorama, which depicts the struggle for Polish freedom in 1794, is located close by. The Centennial Hall, with its spectacular dome and tall, needle-shaped tower, is located on the other bank of the river.
