I am currently working on an assessment that will allow my students to show their understanding of the themes present in the novel, One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, through an I Movie assessment.  Today's PD helped me reinforce what I am doing as an alternative assessment.  Already I can see, through my student's progress, that they are better able to show the depth of the themes through their films, more so than any other demonstration/assesement that I have seen in prior years.  This gets me more and more excited about the possibilities for next year when my students are 1:1!!
