The concept of generalized stiffness matrix has been introduced for truss elements (bar elements inclined at a certain angle to the horizontal) in this video. A numerical example of a truss is also done at the end of the video where displacements and reaction forces in a truss are obtained using the finite element method. The purpose of these lecture sessions is to provide an introduction to the basics of computational techniques for students studying Civil Engineering for their Bachelor’s or Undergraduate degree.
