This is probably the best example of Mitch Mitchell's style, it's very obvious that he was a jazz drummer first and foremost (with the laid-back feel and all of the little flourishes and ghost notes), and he's an essential part of Hendrix's sound. You nailed this one.

I listen for Mitch's fills in Hendrix songs like I remember guitar licks or vocal phrasing... He was something else. When Hendrix and he met the world shifted a little.

It’s funny seeing people try to do Mitchell covers on modern kits with giant heavyweight hardware and overly muffled heads. Ultimately a good player can make any kit sound good but you just get it right.
