How Elizabeth Smart was actually found

Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped from her home in Salt Lake City, Utah on the morning of June 5th, 2002. But due to her clever thinking, her parents partnering with John Walsh to challenge the police, and three amazing regular people who saw something and said something, Elizabeth was recovered alive 9 months later on March 12th, 2003.

For anyone who doesn’t know, John Walsh is the father of Adam Walsh (aka Code Adam) who was kidnapped from a department store and murdered. That’s why he’s such an activist in these cases

What the heck? If I was Elizabeth I would’ve made a point of finding out which officer told my family to just give up and have a funeral, then gone to his office and made him to explain to my face why he didn’t care about doing his job and finding me .

He also had the help of Polly Klaas’s father :) don’t know if you know much about that story. Mary Katherine is was the one who identified him, but Elizabeth wouldn’t have been saved without that tip from a phone call and the very police who showed up and rescued her :) btw I love your lipstick! I have the summer upper lip which I find really hard to do. It’s refreshing to see the kind of lips I have haha

This isn't some special outlier. I recall very clearly in the Cleveland kidnapping book about Amanda and Gina that the police were dismissive about the missing persons reports because they just assumed the kid ran off for a while and assured them they'd probably be back in a few days.

It's quite sad that they don't take it seriously because they get so many calls for missing kids that turn out to be just that case. Until that _isn't_ the case. In many of these circumstances, it is the families that are keeping the case going, even if the trail runs cold.

Younger sister Mary Catherine was a witness but only an audio witness. It was dark and she kept her eyes shut for fear of being detected. She heard what happened but did not see anything.

Yeah, I’m sure John Walsh has done a lot of good things in his life. I do not agree with him taking Meghan’s‘s children from her Meghan Walsh is a good mother. Why does she only want her first three children? Why is he letting the baby go to foster care?

Hat you're doing is amazing...but, john walsh is actually a monster..look into his older daughter whom he and his wife are terrorising through cps..where he wields alot of power and with law enforcement. She believes he had something to do with her brother going missing decades
