My jaw dropped when he said he was basically a year old. Cute pupper though!

As a dog groomer, I definitely appreciate when the big dogs will jump up on the table. I had to groom a 90 lb German shepherd at 35 weeks pregnant, and of course, she wouldn't jump at all, so I had to do the whole groom on the floor. It was rough. Never again.

When i got my younger dog i taught her jumping on and off things as one of the first things and now that she is big she is a pro at both, if its a high altitude but still doable she learned a pose to go down that is so elegant and effortless you wouldnt believe she learned that all by herself just by getting locked out of the yard (because she could jump the fence to go out but not to go in)

So glad my pup never had a problem learning to get up or off tables. Of course that comes with the issue of teaching her that some tables, even ones outside, are not for jumping on. Felt so bad when we were walking her by a restaurant with sidewalk seating and she jumped right up on an empty table...

Those Boerbols are quite elegant in their movement if they’re trained that way. Mine passed in 2016 & I still miss him🤍

Very graceful for a big lug! I am impressed. And I appreciate the cautions about lifting. Thank you!

I’ve always loved this kind of training whether it be up and down off things like tables or up and down stairs because at the end of the day it’s just like he said “these dogs will get bigger” 😅

Now with that being said, my 7lb little chihuahua mixed knows how to get up and down on tables (at a good height) and to walk stairs.

We recently lost our Cane Corso. He became so weak that we had to roll him onto a sheet and use it as a sling to carry him to the car and into the emergency vet. Every dog should be trained to load up on their own. It makes it much easier and safer for the vet.

Do people seriously not think that they'll ever need to have their dog be able to get onto and off of something on their own?
