Thank you for acknowledging that we aren't all in the US. There are more US youtubers than Canadian or elsewhere and so many say "or whatever state you live in" completely ignoring Canada lol.

Maybe it's a girl thing, my daughter used to insist on me giving her grades (she never went to a school) and she would insist "and not mummy grades either mum! Be brutal so that I work harder".
We get heaps of stuff from Amazon too, and the kids love boardgames - my youngest made a math game which he calls "Raku's Establishment - My Menue Math" - we have a page each for drinks, snacks, main meals, and desserts. We drew pictures, and made a price with decimal point for each item in the Menue (there was only allowed to be one 0 in each price) we take turns being the wait or or the patron and you have to buy at least one item off each page. He does all the math - he has to do an addition sum to add up all the items, we have fake money so the patron has to pay with too much so that we get to do a subtraction sum for the change. Then this previous year we have been working on multiplication so we would say 3 people are having the same meal so how much will that be, and recently we've started multiplying by double digits - this coming year we will start on devision so we will "split the bill" - and we will get one of each of the sum types out of each transaction. Of course monopoly is awesome for math.
If you are looking for different types of math there is "Math in the Garden" if you are in America you will get that much cheaper than we did, there's also "Wild Math", and "Life of Fred".

Thanks for this video!! Just found you! I do the same with amazon and have a wish list that I add to and revisit. My daughter sounds like yours. They are the same age and are heading into the same grade. She was previously homeschooled as was my 14-year-old. We tried public for 3 years, but the kids have made little progress and are in therapy now. My daughter is exactly where she was when I put her into public school. Sadly our system isn't the best and is very "clicky". Anyway, Love your channel! Keep it up, Momma!

Does your local library have a summer reading program? I feel like we make a ton of progress with summer reading. Also read alouds seem to help with comprehension.

Also, my kids work off of Magnadoodles. It's the same concept as your e-writer. Great for dictation and math problems. Better than a dry erase board because the pen never dries out.

We don’t grade either. We work to mastery also. Kristen makes me give her an A+ and star or happy face on every paper. 😂

Homeschool mother of 15+ years here. I went through the "no red pen" stage, but that did not last for long. Without the red pen, the kids often missed the items I had marked for them to review/correct. Red pens just make it easier on them, and when it's time to review their corrections, easier on me, too.

You can buy even moor books off of thriftbooks for a lot cheaper. I've never spent more than $12 on 11 more workbook. Most of them a lot cheaper. We love even more it's the spine of our book work

We love Amazon for curriculum. We often buy books and workbooks used on Amazon and save even more. I’ve never gotten one that was unusable and only got I used workbook that was written in. I do watch that the price is less than the new price because occasionally used is more than new with the shipping. We use the Houston online library for reading books and audio books. We live 800 miles from Houston but they still gave me a free library card. 😂 My local library charges me $18 a year because we live outside the city limits. 🥴
