Tell Tale includes 60 cards with images on each side of the cards that are to be used as elements in or inspiration for a story that players come up with themselves. The 120 images feature a variety of settings, characters, and objects, including a desert island, a monster, a jazz band playing, and a birthday cake. It's more of an activity than a game in the sense that it's not a competitive game. There are different ways to go about it as outlined in the included instructions, but one to eight players can play, and the concept is fairly the same. Using the pictures on the cards, players make up an original tale. The instructions suggest using anywhere from six to 10 cards per story. Depending on the gameplay chosen, players either tell the story on their own or as a team. If you do want to add a competitive element, have all the players vote on the best story at the end. Packaged in a compact round tin, the game is easy to take anywhere you go, and all you need to play is the cards and your imagination.
