We took Bill to an Urgent Care Facility and it's his Achilles Heel but the good news is it is NOT detached and they have him in a brace and gave him bands to do some stretching for a week before he gets back on trail. So it's a good thing we stopped before it got worse. We are in Greeneville TN letting his foot rest for a few days then we may get back on trail and see what happens. Pray for a quick recovery and no more pain.

My Cascade Mountain Trek poles came in the mail last week and I bought on a roll of the dice . Haven’t used them yet but you have given a real life evaluation.

I have to agree. I bought mine about 3 years ago, on sale on Amazon and they really are fantastic. I think i paid $40 or about for them. I found out about them from a hiker i was following. Great review of them. 😊 good luck in the Smokies, im enjoying following along

I very nearly pulled the trigger on Gossamer gear LT5 trekking poles yesterday (in-part because of the reputation and partly because they are based in Austin, my hometown). But I just couldn’t do it! I’m 64-3/4 years old headed to Big Bend/Davis Mountains – and just want something that works (without any frills). I just ordered two sets for my wife and I. Thank you so much and we trust that your Achilles has long-since mended, and you are onto the next adventure!

Hey! Love ur videos! My dad is a BIG fan he watches your videos every night with our dog that he loves to go hiking with everyday! It would be so cool if you could give him a shoutout in one of your videos, his name is Matt :)

My wife and I have been using these poles for about 5 years now and they are great. We hike about 2000 miles a year and get about a year and a half out of the poles. At that point the tips are worn off and the poles are about an inch shorter than they were. They still work though and I keep them around as spares.

I own a pair of Cascade Mountain pole...have hiked a bunch with them and I love them. I especially like the rubber grips below the cork for going uphill.

I also have the Cascade Mountain Tech poles. I got mine at Costco for $35.00. I concur with your endorsement. They have never given me a moment’s trouble.

I just bought a pair on Amazon, I think I only paid like 60 bucks for them. But they look solid and I'm excited to use them. I was using a shooting stick as my walking stick which I really shouldn't have but I beefed it up a little bit with epoxy, but I knew I need to get some trucking poles, but I really wanted one with a shooting rest on the top even if I had a rig one up myself. Lo and behold there isn't adapter for one for these sticks I was so happy. I not only use it for my rifle every now and then but mostly for my binoculars to rest on them when I'm sitting down or standing up and I don't want there to be a bunch of movement. Can't wait to try these things out!

In 2020, during the Covid period, I bought the Aluminium ones thru Amazon. I love them but I decided to upgrade to the 3K carbon fibre. Purchased it with confidence . Now after I watched your reviews, I just can't wait for it to arrive.. in Singapore

Way to go Bandit. Now everybody is going to buy these poles, the very poles I currently use. Now they will be too expensive for us “normal” folks. 😏 Seriously though, you’re right, these are excellent trekking poles. I pray your foot continues to heal and you get back to chewing up trail. 👍🏼🙏🏼

Thank you. I've been looking for my first trekking pole. Is it called "Cascade Mountain Tech Trekking Poles - Carbon Fiber Walking or Hiking Sticks with Quick Adjustable Locks"? Looks like Cascade have a lot of trekking poles 😅

I have those also and think they are great!

Great video. Never used trekking poles before and I am not an experienced hiker but now that I'm 60 years old I feel that I need to buy a pair. I travel a lot and therefore I need the foldable ones to fit in my carrying bag (need to be less than 50cm when dismantled). The ones on the video do not look like they're foldable. So, what is your opinion on the 'Cascade Mountain Tech Lightweight Aluminum with Extended Down Grip foldable Trekking Poles'? Do they have the same durability, quality and comfort as the ones in the video? Thank you.

Thanks to all. A lot of folks are watching Bandits progress. Take it easy, heal up.

A way for a quick"shower" on trail. 1. Get some creek, lake water, bring to heat, warm. A small full cooking pot is about 2 quarts but not quite.

2. Pour warm water into a plastic jug, etc, maybe add a bit if water is too hot.

3. Then rise entire body with that 2 qts. You'll feel clean, and good.

Thanks for sharing your opinion on the trekking poles. A lot of youtube vloggers help each other out by posting other vloggers channel names. I was going to suggest that you share Bluegrass's channel name, if he would like you to, to help him grow his channel too.
