Dub Narrator: A man who's extremely invested in these characters.
Sub Narrator: A overly serious onlooker who treats every moment as a life and death situation.
I like both of them, as they bring different tones to the story.

I really like how when he says "Oh come on!" It sounds like he's leaving the room

Funimation: “Hey, Ian. We need you to be the narrator for Kaguya-sama.”

Ian Sinclair: “That’s awesome! Where’s the script?”

Funimation: “There is no script. Just watch the show and react as any normal viewer would.”

0:20 I love how the actor sounds like he’s so angry he’s moving away from the mic lol

I say both the sub and dub are fantastic. What the dub version has over sub is that the narrator is better than the sub narrator.

The greatest thing the dub is the main character…..the narrator

i've only ever seen clips of this show, but i think both are quite good in their own regard

at least in the context of this clip

I like how the Japanese narrator also sounds excited. But it’s the type of excited where he’s fighting to keep his composure. Where as the english dub narrator doesn’t care 😂.

I think both have their own good humour. I prefer the tone of the sub, but man the Dub narrator is entertaining, acts a lot more like a viewer.

The two can't be compared. One is a faithful adaptation and the other is an abridged series-esque adaptation. They're both great in their own ways.

A dub that mixes it up just means you can watch the series twice and get a different experience, win-win.

The best comparison between these two are that of an animal documentary narrator and a wrestling match announcer. One knows what’s going to happen and tends to speak only of what’s on screen without much bias, while the other tends to be bombastic and can be surprised by what’s happening along with swept up in the heat of the crowd

Something tells me they just told Ian Sinclair “Go to town here” in the script, and what resulted was the single best narration in anime history

This is one of those rare animes that you can genuinely watch in both sub and dub and get away with it. The VA’s are spectacular across the board.

I started watching the dub...it's actually great. The narrator basically reacts what we're thinking 😂

It's like a different show, but still Kaguya sama

Not only is Magna a magic knight, he's also the best narrator ever!

A voice actress from my country once said something interesting: "The best dubs aren't the ones that translate the original 1:1, but the ones that give us the freedom to adapt it a little bit to the non-Japanese viewer"

Another great dub is Zombieland Saga's, where there was a good deal of adapting for the jokes, which made it another one of my favorite dubs. "DIDN'T YOU HAVE WIKIP*DIA WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE, HUH?"
