This video is a simple overview of using labels in QGIS.
In the demo I show:

*GEORSS feed of earthquakes in the UK (!)
*Adding a simple label from a field
*Accessing the Expression Dialog (editor)
*Using plus sign "+" (concatentation) to build my own custom label
*Using "substr" to pick out specific bits of a string to use in a label
*Adding a "new line" using "\n" in my label composition
*Changing the label font

I will be doing a lot more with labels in the very near future but I hope this video will get you cracking on your own labelling requirements.
