I had no idea there was such a thing as "mourning jewelry." I suppose only the very wealthy could have afforded such items. Thanks for sharing/ educating. BTW, beautiful piece.

Today's Mourning jewelry uses cremated ashes for lockets or pressurized into diamonds. I don't believe in cremation, so I wish there were people who know how to craft something like this. ❤

Have you thought about trying to find the family/descendants of this person to return this to their family? I can only imagine how precious of a gift this would be to have from one's family <3
