This is exactly what an information video should be: Great points, concise (!), and easy to watch. Tim, I can't overstate how much you help the guitarist community.

Great idea on sitting wearing the guitar strap. I have horrible posture playing while sitting down and this tip is awesome. By the way, Tim has the greatest tone I've ever heard. I dare say the best living guitarist and he is so nice to share his knowledge with us.

Excellent tips that everyone should know and do! A lot of what you shared are things I always try to communicate to my guitar students to varying degrees of success, but you've said it in such a clear way with excellent examples thaat you've inspired me to rethink how I explain these topics to be as clear and inspiring as you are. Thanks for being so willing to share your knowledge and experience with all of us!

Great tips, An old school alternative to looking at waveforms is the Carol Kaye tip of playing along to a metronome and try and make the metronome beat groove.

9-46 is where it's at IMO. More tension is always appreciated on low E.

EXCELLENT group of tips!!!! I’ve been playing for 40+ years - professionally fr many (even when I first started at 15 )
I’ve played with seasoned musicians since a teenager - even played with the likes of Grammy award winners like Vic Wooten - and tips like these STILL are a good way to pause and think about what we are doing with our instrument.
I actually employ many of these (appreciate/ single note/ aggressive blues) but just don’t really give it much thought.
I play mostly in church settings these days - and I find myself during rehearsals - playing things that I KNOW that I won’t play when we actually go live. I do this to test the waters to see what I might be able to stretch out on- and what not to play.

Oh - by the way - I’m sharing this with every musician I know. 😊

you teach so many habits that at first may seem subtle but are very important. I love that you brought up the string gauges, I use .085 .12 .16 .24 .34 .48 which is a combination of a set of 8s 9s and 10s and it changed my playing tremendously once I figured out that I did not need fence post for guitar strings. also the way you hold the guitar, another thing that I struggled with while I was younger but have now embraced and makes things so much easier. I appreciate you and your knowledge so much Tim. Great video my man.
