I've definitely found it to be smoother on my Pixel 2XL, faster unlock, but also, faster app opening times, don't know whether its a placebo, but I hope not

This beta has been amazing on my Pixel 2 so far, hardly any bugs and the speed and fluidity of it has given my phone a new lease of life, I'm loving it, oh, and my battery life has increased as well

Some app transitions still look a bit static and jittery compared to iOS and Windows. I really hope they start to work on that.

The full gesture mode is amazing. Heard some people complain or knock it because it's "like an iPhone" or that Google is "ripping off" Apple. I've never ever used an iPhone so I can't comment on similarities or infringement, but it is much easier to navigate around, browse and switch apps, I really hope this sticks. Right now I'm on a pixel 2 XL 64 but I'm looking forward to the pixel 4 XL 256 and I wouldn't mind if full gesture mode is standard. More screen space, and no need to make that dang nav bar pop up! It also kind of "feels" like you can tell this is being designed for the supposed edge to edge screen that the 4 will have, but maybe I'm just crazy. Great overview!
