Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh is getting her first Fashion Edition by popular request! Today we are taking a look through Sophie's style catalogue through her worst dressed moment (it's a shocking disaster), many near hits and a few that needed a bit of a tweak, to the best look I've ever seen her in!
We compare a few looks that needed a tweak here or there to be true home runs, but she has a style secret up her sleeve that leaves her looking polished and overall gaining many a fashion win simply by following a styling technique we discuss in today's video!
I've included her style profile so that you can identify if you have a similar body type or features that impact your style same as her. Also, there are a few dresses linked in the products tab that are similar to those favorites of Sophie that flatter her figure the best!

When she nails it, she truly nails it. I'm a big fan of hers. She is low key and just serves the crown and Her Majesty adored her. She is a gem.

Interesting thing to remember when using the word "professionalism" in regard to Sophie. Before she married she owned her own corporate PR company. This is a woman who moved and worked in corporate circles. Being thoughtful in regard to her physical presentation comes as second nature to a woman who has had to present herself as a company director. No matter what outfit she chooses (and there are some that I really don't like), she is ALWAYS appropriately dressed for the occasion, her clothes are well tailored, well pressed and dignified. Markle could take a lot of lessons from Sophie in how to dress and behave appropriately for the occasion.

A cousin of mine has worked with her on Royal duties and he says she is lovely. She is hugely popular amongst the armed services and their families. She is genuine empathetic and interested in people. She laughs easily and cries easily too. One of our most popular Royals and hard working too.

Sophie is lovely and is, for me, the most relatable royal. Her personality shines through and she works hard with no drama. I can understand why the late Queen valued her so much.

I love Sophie. I remember when she got married to Edward, the wedding was beautiful. They had a few rough patches in the beginning. However, when Sophie's mum passed away, HMTQ stepped up, and from that moment on, their relationship became cemented. Sophie was fiercely loyal to both the late Queen and Prince Philip. I think Sophie is coming into her own. In the past she seemed to fade into the background and wasn’t mentioned much in fashion comments. But now she’s standing out whether she’s hired a new stylist or has a bit more money to spend on her wardrobe. Perhaps King Charles realizes her worth as a senior royal and is more generous with his purse strings. Or perhaps Edward has hit King Charles up for a larger allowance for Sophie’s clothing collection. If so, I hope they start spending money on Lady Louise’s clothes also. She can’t live in horsey outfits or barn clothes. These men must realize people aren’t as interested in their causes as they are in their outfits. Men can wear ho him clothes, but women must stand out and be noticed.

A couple of things to remember when thinking about Sophie. When she first joined the royal family, she was compared a lot to Diana because she had a similar hairstyle to what Diana had worn. A lot of those comparisons were pretty harsh towards her. Also, because Edward was QE2's youngest, they didn't have a huge royal role early in their marriage. I think they both worked private sector jobs at some point. Because many of the working royals are getting up in years, and because of Andrew's scandals and then Megxit, Edward and Sophie have had to take a much more active role in the last few years. I think that because of those early Diana comparisons, she dressed to hide a bit until recently.

I really liked it when you highlighted those two patterned dresses next to each other where you could tell one highlighted her waist and one gave her the illusion of a long bust. I have a similar bust and waist, so this was helpful for me to see side by side. It's easy to fall into that long bust trap.

This was a great look at Sophie’s strong points and how they work in her outfits. Plus! I finally understand why her wedding dress looked blah. As you pointed out wide necklines, such as her wedding dress and the green dress don’t compliment her. Good job Beebs

I agree the white and navy dress is stunning on her. And her beautiful warm smile that goes into her eyes is one of her best accessories. She looks genuinely happy.

I think Sophie has a few problem areas as well as having to dress for her age. She's sort of hit and miss with her wardrobe. Lately, though she has done better and maybe has a better stylist. She's such a lovely woman but she probably didn't have the budget for high end fashion back then. I adore that green outfit! She has great legs so those shorter dresses are flattering for her.

Sophie also does a great job of looking appropriate for her age (almost 60) as well as the event. Yes, there are outfits I liked better than others, some that were more flattering to her, but other than the spumoni jacket, nothing was clearly a "wrong" like some other people wear.

This is a great video format and it would be fun to see you feature the style of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Princess Anne. Catherine, Princess of Wales is wonderful to follow but variety is great fun too.

I love that you featured Sophie, one of my favourite royals.

I think my favourite outfit she has worn is her ensemble at the Cambridges’ wedding in 2011. She looked fantastic and it’s even more amazing to see her in video footage when you realize that she had a few broken and bruised ribs that day, having had an accident (horse riding?). My least favourite is probably the blue jumpsuit she wore to Ascot a few years ago.
