Limestone tends to wear done if it’s on a walk/driveway and eventually solidifies under the surface. I had 16 tons laid 30 years ago for my drive way and it’s now solid a few inches down. I have tried to dig a trench for a cable and it’s like concrete. I understand that rain dissolves limestone relatively quickly and it builds up from the bottom.

I’m not sure what will happen if I use limestone in my new french drain but I think I’ll try river stone.

Would this same pipe and method of wrapping work just as well for the field lines on a septic tank?

I have a sump pump putting out 3 gal 3 times in 5 min. Would you recommend a different system like a shallow well or something different?

If I have the choice of 1.5 - 3” or 1.5” and less washed rock for a French drain what is my safest bet ? Also. The amount of water I’ll be moving isn’t outrageous and I have lots of natural slope to my advantage.

How do you clean out the corregated pipes if they get clogged with leaves and pinestraw? The end of my corregated pipes connect to an underground drywell filled with 57 stone. I cannot find the end of the pipe and want avoid digging the pipe up since its surrounded with a bunch of 57 stone

Would the 1inch tan gravel work good for this as well?

If I was to run a dual system with the high octane with sock on bottom of trench & yard drain solid pipe with catch basins above do I need to burrito wrap the whole system?

There's another channel here on YT that prefers angular gravel. They also prefer hand drilled schedule 40 pipe with perforations only on the bottom. Can you give me an idea of the pros and cons of this approach?

What do you use as a base under the pipe? I was thinking of using crushed, compacting it, then the stone you were talking about. Question? Why wrap? I’ve heard not to wrap. Thanks

I am looking run a solid corrugated pipe under the driveway that connects to a catch basin. In that case I I think I would want 57 stone or something that does compact correct? I want cars and the occasional oil delivery truck to be able to drive over it.

Actually if you are doing a large project and you have access to a quarry you can get washed for about an extra 4 dollars a ton at the time of this posting. If buying direct they will wash it for a very reasonable fee. River rock is about $80 ton and crushed washed is running under $40. Here we have choice of 1" or 1"to 2" mixed. Crushed granite.

I got 2 cubic yards of 1-2” New England round rock delivered. Every single piece is covered in dirt. I’ve spent hours upon hours cleaning this rock but it’s still dirty as hell. I might be the first person to to have a French drain fail due to dirty rock!

My French drain is going to end about 20’ short of where I’m daylighting. I was going to use a solid pipe for this last section - is there any need to burrito wrap or add aggregate to this 20’ section?

Hi Rob, would there be any issues with 1 1/2 Granite?? the voids will differ but they'll still be there..agree? just trying to reduce stone cost..

Is this rock also known as 1.5" Delaware River Rock? Many places near me dont have anything labeled just as 1.5" "Round Rock". Im either looking at 1.5" Clean Crushed Rock (No Fines) or DRiver Rock. Any guidance is helpful and appreciated! You put out some amazing content.

Having a hard time finding 1.5 inch round rock near me. Would 1.5 inch blue stone drainage rock (which is jagged) work?
