Scott Joplin - Solace (1909) [Score-Video]

Scott Joplin (c. November 24, 1868 – April 1, 1917) was an American composer and pianist. Joplin is also known as the "King of Ragtime" because of the fame achieved for his ragtime compositions, music that was born out of the African-American community. During his brief career, he wrote over 100 original ragtime pieces, one ragtime ballet, and two operas.

He wrote "The Maple Leaf Rag" and "The Entertainer". Need I say more.

Wonderful. Exquisite piano playing, with a few intriguing interpretation choices. The last strain forte first and second time piano. The tempo is a tad too slow, in my humble opinion. But it works. I play the fermatas a little bit longer. I love playing this piece myself.
