I love how it can be interpreted so many different ways, like it can be herself or a memory like maybe a past trauma. It can be a part of herself she tried to cut off or it can be a ghost of a friend. It can be so many things (not necessarily a toxic lover) and that's what I love about it.

Though simultaneously I hate the fact that certain people in the comments insist it's whatever they decided it is. Ironic coming off the back of that interview where she talks about how she doesn't want to assign any meaning to things because she wants people to interpret things in their own way, and yet we still get people going 'it is definitely this' and pushing their own narratives out, insinuating anyone who didn't see it that way is wrong. Like I didn't see it as a lover at all, but I'm not gonna sit here typing an essay about why I'm right and everybody else is wrong...wish everyone else did the same thing too.
