I worked on mi-jack travel lifts for 15 years. Nice to see nothings changed. Believe me you’ll have plenty of job security.

Good on them for knowing when a part is better off being replaced.

Appreciate the update. Crazy how the weld failed and a lot of it, too. Would be interested to get a failure analysis. It looks almost like the weld didn’t penetrate into the parent material. Any thoughts on what went wrong?

They hate uneven ground, potholes and the steer tires get out of alignment, puts a lot of stress on the colums

Why does your son look like a maximum security prison guard? 😂😂😂👍👍👍

This is a lot of force on that flange with no gussets to help keep it from breaking off with a span that long.

Precast for 30 years operating a mijack for 24. I've never had anything like that happen.. are they not keeping the drive wheels lined up? Either way nice job!

Metal fatigue. The elements can repair only so many times .then replace with new ones

Need to level that lot or something. Why are they putting so much stress on it?

Thats not good when you have to weld it to take it apart lol... It's usually the other way around

These look like clean breaks. It should not happen like that, if all things being equal. These base metals need to be understood. Proper pre heat, post heat, welding inter pass temps etc. and other parameters need to be adhered to, unless you comfortable of a failure on your watch.

What causes these failures. All boxes are weighed so overweight seems unlikely.
