What does conviction of the Holy Spirit mean? When many people think of being convicted by the Holy Spirit they think of guilt and condemnation. But the only thing they are guilty of is living below who they were created as a child of God. As children of God we are to be imitators of God. We have been born again. Now that God is our Father and we are new creations we should live as such. He cries Abba Father and bears witness we are the children of God. Since we have been made alive by the Spirit we should walk in the Spirit. If we walk in the Spirit we won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

The new birth is the culmination of the sanctifying process.
There must be a cleansing, by the word, by the Spirit, and by the blood of Jesus. There must be a circumcision, not of the flesh but in the spirit. And the putting off of the old man, and the putting on of the New man, who is created in righteousness and true holiness. Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ.
