September 12th, 2017 I lost my Best Friend Lizzy Lawson to Cancer (wilms Tumor) She Figure skated like I did and she always smiled at me since her mom told me she never smiled at anyone else. She was only 6 years old. This was the song she skated to before she passed. When I hear this wherever I may be, I know it’s her still visiting me letting me know she’s still by my side inspiring me to Be Brave like she was

Sometimes the pain is still fresh. It’s like a open wound. It stings. Just because I have been through a lot of loss in my life doesn’t make it any easier for me.

A lot of people compare this song to Roar by Katie Perry. In my opinion there is no similarities. Katie did not write Roar and she cannot perform it live. The true test of an artist is their live performance.

It's already been said here so many times I wasn't going to say it again, but ... she's INCREDIBLE. I've seen her everytime she's come to town (3 times) and every show is transcendent. I don't know how or what's happening but there's something indescribable about her singing, her presence, her writing, her compassion, all of it. Why she's not the biggest thing in music I don't know. But maybe at least this way I can still afford tickets to her shows.
