Stripping Golden Fibre (Jute):

Hi Friends,
Please watch and enjoy this short video on stripping jute fibre which is also known as golden fibre. The farmers shown here is one of our friends doing stripping yesterday. This is the end of stripping this year. Those who harvested late are doing stripping now.
Jute after harvesting kept in the field for 2-3 days and after defoliation the jute bundles are kept under stagnant water for RETTING.
The next operation is known as STRIPPING i.e. extraction of jute fibres from plants. It needs skill to do so. Here the farmer was expert enough on stripping. See how beautifully he was doing his job. The jute sticks thus separated are dried under sun and used as fuel for cooking purposes. Please watch and enjoy.
