This superyacht belonging to Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg was impounded, Monday, by Spanish police on behalf of U.S. authorities.

Valued at more than $99 million, the 255-foot vessel was seized in a shipyard on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca.

Officers, including from the FBI, searched the multimillion dollar yacht.

In a video statement released by the Justice Department, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland warned Russian Oligarchs there’s more to come:

"Today marks our task force's first seizure of an asset belonging to a sanctioned individual with close ties to the Russian regime. It will not be the last."

The Justice Department said that the superyacht named Tango is subject to forfeiture based on violations of U.S. bank fraud, money laundering, and sanction statutes.

A spokesperson for Vekselberg, who heads aluminum-to-energy conglomerate Renova, had no immediate comment.

Vekselberg was placed under U.S. sanctions in 2018 over alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

What does the USA have to do with this yacht in Mallorca? When that oligarch was against Russia, the US supported him and greeted him everywhere. But suddenly everything changed

I hate it when that happens, you get a letter through your council flat letterbox telling you and it's so annoying. I'm sure most people in Britain - during the cost of living crisis - can sympathize with this scenario...

Well that's "attainder" law at its finest that's what our constitution protected against the British and the French law didn't, and it didn't mean you could take what you want, to condemn or "attaint" to "attain it" corruptly may I add.

The stolen goods were taken from Russian thieves.
Fine. Excellent.

But here's the question.
Will the taken be returned to the people of Russia or will it be appropriated by European thieves?
