Precious French Bulldog, Unable To Walk Due To Hemivertebrae, Is Dumped At The Shelter [STORY BELOW]

When she needed help the most, this sweet pup was heartlessly abandoned. At two years old, only weighing 18 pounds, it is likely she had one or two litters, possibly used for breeding until she was cast aside altogether. Struggling with mobility issues and a debilitating URI, it is up to us to turn her life around.

Olive’s story is heartbreaking from the very start. This small Frenchie was dropped off at the shelter by her previous owners, who provided no information and refused to sign the paperwork. Her past life left few clues, save for a c-section scar, hinting at a life spent breeding puppies. She was unable to walk, but the reason was a startling mystery, and she had an array of untreated health conditions. Olive, sick and distressed, was left behind by the people who were supposed to protect her. Who could ever abandon a girl so adorable!?

When the shelter reached out to us, we knew right away that we had to step in to save sweet Olive. The moment she arrived at our rescue, it was clear just how dire her situation was. Unable to walk and suffering from incontinence (unable to properly use her bowels or bladder), she amazed everyone with her ability to scoot around surprisingly quickly. Our vet diagnosed her with a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and a more worrying diagnosis of Hemivertebrae, a congenital vertebral malformation, which explained her mobility issues.

It was clear that Olive had been bred without regard for her own inherited condition, contributing to her grave health. They didn’t care that she had complications; they used her anyway, paying no regard to her well-being. They never gave her proper vet care and had clearly overlooked her complications. This adorable girl, who was so innocent and kind, was so horribly neglected that it just broke our hearts! She will never be mistreated like that again.

Our dedicated veterinarian team quickly assessed Olive but determined she was not a candidate for surgery. Instead, they referred her to another trusted vet, known for her experience changing the lives of dogs with disabilities. This vet, who has helped countless animals before, is Olive's hope for a better quality of life. We stand with Olive now, committed to making her comfortable and helping her regain some of the mobility she lost, but we need your help to fund her costly treatment.

Please join us in transforming Olive's life from one of struggle to one of hope and mobility. Your donations, either a much-needed gift or monetary amount, can make a significant impact on her journey, ensuring she receives the best care she needs to begin anew. Let's welcome Olive to Golden Ears with open arms! Thank you so much for taking a chance on her.

So cute, but also very sad for the puppies who suffer due to the idiots who like to overbreed and don't think of the consequenties for the animals. 😥😥😥

As a retired/disabled senior citizen because of the very high vet costs, dog meds and tests, especially for long term disease care we are not longer adopting dogs.
