Synod 2024: Who are the People of God in Oceania? Pacific

In the heart of the Pacific, the Catholic Church is a beacon of faith and unity! Through CEPAC (Episcopal Conference of the Pacific), 16 jurisdictions—including 14 dioceses and territories like the Marshall Islands and Tokelau—support a thriving community of 750,000 Catholics in a region of 2.3 million.

With the help of 485 priests, 126 deacons, 133 brothers, and 666 religious sisters, faith flourishes even in the most remote areas. The cherished tradition of Basic Christian Communities (BCC) continues to bring people together to pray and reflect, no matter the geographic or seasonal challenges.
