Hi,
this is a video about how to make a really slow (and strong) gearbox.
More about gear ratio (the numbers on the bottom left):
Enjoy watching,

I like the idea of using rubber bands. It would be cool if the LEGO company remade the parts that hold the rubber band and made them out of rubber so the band doesn't slip so easily.

Why did u put a little technic connect thing to the motor at the last seconds how are u gonna get that out

A warning about the work gears ("screw") - the produce a ton of friction, and therefore require a much more solid support than shown here if they're going to meet even the slightest resistance. Otherwise, the gearbox will absolutely rip itself apart.

I once made a 20:1 * 24:1 ratio just for fun and it worked (with worm gears)

Any chance you could post links to parts lists and assembly instructions for the 24:1, 40:1, and 576:1 screw gear assemblies?

What would be a good gear ratio design for a Lego motorized radar

Hi, is there a parts list for the first gear version?
I'm using it to turn a 15 cm golden disco ball. It's very light and the standard mirror ball motors spin way too fast. 😀

Changed the thumbs up model I see, I think it looks great!

i think a worm gear and a gear is enough for a strong gearbox lol (cant be backdriven) though for this maybe a clock can be made? ik worm gears and gears are strong as when doing a sumo competition i used worm gears so yeah it was slow bug reallly stronk

I like LEGO gearboxes which would need more time to rotate once than the whole universe exists :D
