Exploring Kerala | Unbelievable Trip 😍
Показать описание
Kerala, located on the south-western tip of India, enjoys unique geographical features that have made it one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Asia. Fondly referred to as ‘God’s Own Country’, Kerala was selected by the National Geographic Traveller as one of the 50 destinations of a lifetime and one of the thirteen paradises in the world.
An equable climate, serene beaches, tranquil stretches of backwaters, lush hill stations and exotic wildlife are the major attractions of this land. A unique advantage of Kerala is that most of the destinations here are only a two - four hour drive from the other.
Classical art forms, colourful festivals, exotic cuisine are some of the cultural marvels that await travellers. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine and Panchakarma, the rejuvenation therapy in Ayurveda have also helped Kerala to gain a pan-global reputation as a worth-visit destination.
Season never ends in Kerala, thanks to the year-long moderate climate and numerous festivals and events.
I visited these following places.
Munnar - 1600m above sea level. Its overall view, including the tea plantations, beautifully designed towns, rare flora and fauna, massive peaks and dams, make it the perfect destination for an extended vacation as well. The unique sight of the Neelakurinji flower that appears once in every 12 years (next in 2018) makes it hard to pass over this place at any cost.
Kovalam- sunbathing to herbal body toning massages, the range of options available is diverse. Many families have enjoyed lovely picnics on these pristine shores. It is a hub for cultural activities along with ayurvedic facilities being readily available nearby.
Kumarakom - It is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam famous for its backwater tourism. It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in the state of Kerala. In January 2023, when Kerala was chosen by the New York Times as one among the 52 must-see tourist destinations in the world, Kumarakom got a special mention for its backwater tourism
Kochi - Popularly known as 'Queen of the Arabian Sea', it is a flourishing port city showcasing a rich blend of mesmerising natural beauty and vibrant culture. Serving as Kerala's commercial, industrial and financial capital, it is the crowning jewel of the state's tourism landscape. Kochi is the official food capital of Kerala because of the highest number of restaurants and the varieties of foods available.
Thiruvananthapuram - The capital city of Kerala is famous for its ancient temples, museums, and art galleries, as well as its beautiful beaches and backwaters. Trivandrum is also a hub for Ayurvedic treatments and wellness centres.
