Richard Wolff is Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a visiting professor at The New School, where he works on economics in the Marxist tradition. Why does no portion of Palestine enjoy the status of a sovereign nation?

The US position, which is enforced by US veto upon the UN Security Council is that sovereignty for Palestine must result from negotiations with Israel.

This absurd requirement means that Palestine 'Sovereignty' can only come to Palestine by permission of their military overlords and settler-killers. This is a cruel  joke.

No such 'negotiate your sovereignty with your killers' requirement was imposed upon the handful of European Zionists, who declared most of Palestine a "Jewish" state in 1948 - in the midst of a Zionist rampage of murder, torture, and evictions of Palestinians from their homes and farms.

The US insists on blocking application of international law, ie, 1) a representation election to determine sovereignty; 2) prosecution of Israeli killers & land thieves in an International tribunal.

Refusal by the US to permit peaceful remedies . . . Has everyone forgotten September 11, 2001?

Modern Israel is a product of Western sponsorship of Zionism in
Palestine. Note that the original Israel before the time when Jesus
lived did not anymore exist during the Roman Empire. And the Israel at
the current modern period are mostly European descent and non-Middle
Eastern.
The delusion of thinking themselves as Jews and chosen people of God:
When some people of European and U.S. descent converted to Jews their
culture and beliefs (not being themselves Middle Easterners) were
probably radicalized. Thus, they may practice an adulterated type of
Judaism or none at all (for instance Zionism). The Zionist Jews came
to the Middle East and evicted many Palestinians from homes and land
properties; these Zionists are modern type bandits. Netanyahu and the
IDF have become butchers in Gaza and are now accused of committing
genocide.
