—While I was working on Pt.2, I remembered this AMAZING Marcus Miller riff he did in his rendition of Teen Town. So I just HAVE to add that riff, because “…it’s bad as “fzn#%k!”

👉🏾By the chord symbol “13” in a Jazz context, like “C13”, I’m referring to the C dominant chord, i.e., with a flat 7th.
🔸Common construction of the “13” chord would be; Root, b7th, the 10th (a Major 3rd an octave higher), the 9th and the 13th. It’s common to omit the 5th as well as the 11th in a 13th chord, but whatever works!! And of course there are inversions and many different voicings of a 13th chord that can be played. 😁🎸
