I just got home to California from NJ. My partner is from there. We go once a year to Avalon and pretend we’re rich. We’re related to an Episcopal priest who goes down to Avalon for two weeks to close up the church for winter. We stay with him in a modest rectory. We’re at the beach everyday, play games at night, drink beer and wine, read, relax and play “tourist” on the 7 mile island. I enjoy it but it’s not the big cities like Newark or Trenton. I’ve never been there.
