We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.

If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

Fries, and gravy were a teenage staple in northern Manitoba in the '70's. Oh, man!

Sam, your tomato soup and grilled cheese video inspired us to make it. Afterwards, we were able to turn the leftovers into the best chili we’ve ever had. Thanks for your “Meals with intentional leftovers”. You’re the best!

Hey Sam, thanks for pointing out that the brown holes in the potatoes are fine! I grow my own potatoes and have had a load of them develop "hollow heart" this year due to inconsistent watering, and it's really refreshing to see someone actually show it - and actually state that it doesn't matter - in a video. :)

Sam, you've inspired me to get in the kitchen and make good food more times than you can imagine. Thank you for helping me feed myself well!

Sam finding your channel has made me fall in love with cooking even more. I’ve always enjoyed cooking and at 27 i have so many “guesscipes “ that my family can’t stand regular food. Keep innovating and inspiring. Possibly your #1 fan

This is an excellent method to fixing up the issues with sweet potato fries, which are much more waxy and less starchy than regular fries, so they tend to get soggy when fried the same way. They will still be soft in the middle, but the batter crisps them up quite a bit. Just use 1/2 c of cornstarch and 1/2 c of flour, then mix in your 1c of water and go from there. Make sure you soak them in water for at least a few hours beforehand, too. 375F for about 7-8 minutes.

My late Mom would make her tempura batter in a similar way, except she would add some beer in the batter and combine potatoes, carrots and greenbeans and fry them in a small haystack style. So delicious and had all the adorable bubble bumps like your fries. YUM!

I am British and yet you've pretty much just created the most British inspired dish. Battered chips/fries sound like something a fish and chip shop should have been making all along!

Sam, a little tip on beef gravy is to add Kitchen Bouquet. When l was growing up, all the old farmer/rancher wives used it.
I still buy and use it to this day. Great flavor enhancer.

Fries are one of my favourites and to see this will be a boost of flavour and change from the old ways. Thanks again.

Grew up in Rochester, NY, and there are plenty of restaurants that serve fries (crinkle cut) with gravy. I thought this was a perfectly normal fry condiment until moving to Arizona. Fries with gravy are the best!

My mother always had a thing about not being wasteful. Her potato peelings were soaked in water. Then soon dry in a salad spinner and fried with butter and used as a topping for scramble eggs. Unbelievable good

Thank you for making a quick gravy from broth. I use to do this in a pinch and my ex husband would get mad at me and call me crazy and stupid, so I stopped doing it along with many other things (note the ex husband part, but still some what ruined my confidence). It's good to know I wasn't that crazy and stupid after all.

Oh Sam, we've been doing this in the UK for years, so glad you've caught up.

Thank you for the gravy tip. 1 tablespoon of corn starch to 1 tablespoon of water for 1 cup of liquid. I've been struggling with this. I did your beef short ribs perfect except for the gravy. Your the best, thank you sir.

Really, the best thing to dip your fries into is a nice thick chocolate shake!

Battered chips are common where I live in Staffordshire, England. My other half and I love watching your channel. He is a fussy eater but even he says he would eat many of your meals. I will test him out and do some of your recipes.

I literally did this the other day while doing a fish fry! It was amazing! Now to just play with different batter recipes.

I've been into BBQ for a long time but over the last 6 months, I've been into cooking everything. My wife realised today that it's because of YOU Sam. So thank you.
