How to Add A Subdomain in GoDaddy

If you want to use a custom domain in ConvertKit (or similar) but don't want to buy a whole new domain, you have to use a subdomain.

Way to hand wave over the important bit. I have a main domain as a godaddy web page and created a sub-domain...ok now what. I can't find a place to connect it anywhere. If I create a new page it wants me to get a whole new domain. can't see any ways to use the sub domain so what is the point?
