A beautiful world. Watching them glide down the canals through the tall reeds was so lovely. Reminds me a bit of my wanderings through the marshes of my birthplace on the coast of North Carolina. Things of beauty that bind us together as watchful humans are, as he says, more important in many ways than chasing the often elusive and harrowing latter-day 'American Dream', particularly if reaching the dream leaves you feeling somewhat empty, after all. Thanks for making this.

What a lovely story the Iraqi marshlands was. Goes to show you, the American Dream doesn't necessarily fulfill your heart.
Thanks for bringing back these quiet stories.

I read about the Marsh Arabs years ago, and what Hussein did to them. I’m glad to hear they are reclaiming their culture and land. Nice reporting. Thanks.
