K9 Finds Missing Boy With Autism in Less Than 10 Minutes

When an 8-year-old autistic boy went missing, cops called in specialized help: a K9. Authorities say the boy is non-verbal and he wandered out of his house late at night in Crestview, Florida. It was K9 Beau’s first search and once he got a whiff of the child, he was off and running to find him. It took less than 10 minutes for Beau to find the boy. Thank God the child was found quickly. Great job, officers! I know the heart-stopping fear his family had. I have a son with Down syndrome and autism who is also nonverbal. The constant state of living on the edge of panic that something like this can happen at any time is truly life-altering.

As an autistic person who is non verbal at times, I love this. I do have some trauma with police and any 911 forces. I would like it if police in my town did this! We have a canine named bluey whom is the one who searched for me when I ran off…


I was in love with construction and so we drove past a sight and my mom said no I was upset and while my parents unloaded groceries I ran out of the house .

I cried!!! ❤ my youngest son is almost 6, and is nonverbal autistic and has sensory processing disorder. Him getting lost or wondering off is one of my biggest fears. Not only is it so amazing the dog picked up his scent and tracked him so quickly, but the kindness and gentleness the officers showed towards the boy was heartwarming. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
