How to Impress Professors and Secure Your Spot in Grad School: The Strategy No One Talks About!
Показать описание
When I first started my graduate program in Management Science and Business Administration, I was so nervous. I could barely look my potential supervisor in the eye. This video will help you have a discussion with a professor for graduate school.
You have to think about what the potential professor is going to be thinking. The first two things that they are going to be thinking is (1) is this person going to be ok to be around, and (2) is this person going to make me more productive.
The objective is to always appear authentic and to let the professor know that you are going to be helpful.
How can you appear to be helpful and authentic when you have a discussion with a professor for graduate school?
I would start off slowly. Read a few of their articles, and then ask if you could meet with them to talk about these articles and their research.
Tell them when you meet that you only want to meet for 5-10 minutes. Only take 5-10 minutes.
At the end of the discussion, make sure that you ask them for more work to do. Ask the professor if they would recommend a few articles to read.
Read those articles, and send them a note how much you appreciated the articles. Put several comments about what you liked and did not like about the articles.
At the end of the email, ask them if they have more articles to read and some work that you could do, and you would be willing to do this work for free. That is it.
It is really simple to have this graduate school discussion with a Professor if you simply think in terms of what the Professor is scared about.

David Maslach is a research professor of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business strategy, I discuss topics, such as behavioral science, strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and apply these to my new peer proofreading and editing platform. Topics include the sharing economy, altruism, investing in technology, starting a business, and bounded rationality. My favorite videos pertain to incentives, goal setting, and learning from failure to drive behaviors such as weight loss, stopping telemarketers, creating novel technologies, and creating new movements.
A new platform where you can earn credits by editing other people's documents. Use these credits to have your own work edited. If you do a good enough job, you can convert these credits to money.
The goal of the platform is to get people to 'pay it forward' and help other people out by creating incentives for people to give back.
