What’s that green light flashing on your tach? I ran Hayden tensioners on several Harley’s in my life. From sportsters to a 96 inch shovel to evos and I’m fixing to put one on my twin cam with S&S gear drive and 509 G cams. I’ve been totally satisfied with every one of them.

I like the Fatboy vlogs... Here is my opinion on the tensioners. If your all stock or stage one install one with out question.

If your adding power like a big bore or heads and cams, I would keep the manual adjustment one. Here is my reasons. When you add power that power is transferred through the chain. That may over power the tension springs and cause a slip. When adding more power the chain is more likely to stretch premature and if your not keeping up with it it may come apart and that is very expensive. I have repaired a broken primary chain. Chains "set" very quick and those that have had a rear chain drive may remember that you had to adjust it soon after installing it. Then it went for a long time before another adjustment. Then you started to adjust it often. That often is when its shot. Primary in stock form can go 100K like Yogi or much longer. In not stock builds it will not go as long and you need to keep up on it. Its like a let ya know before its all gone bad thing. That is my personal take.
My personal experience with primary. I had a 1 1/2 inch under the primary belt in my Shovel That worked fine with the S&S Super and the "A" grind cam. When I added 8 inches and all kinds of go fast internals that belt didn't make it around the block. I had to go 3 inch open belt. Never broke one and I rode it like someone else was paying the bills. My point here is the power and the effect it has on parts.
