That wouldn't be enough. Those are probably in the low billions of dollars. These bailouts are in the hundreds of billions of dollars or more!

The haircut was a mistake in previous bailouts there was no haircut. So the precedent was established. By changing how bailouts are given, the EU lost credibility.

Cyprus has gotten rich off its strategic location so I do not have much sympathy for these people. That being said if that happened in most other places around the world government officials would be lynched in the street, or at least the citizens have grounds

As much as European Immigration is an issue, if people are going to cry Muslim Wolf at least they could back it up with actual statistics.
