I remember another formula for the area of a triangle when the sides are known called semiperm.

I think the formula for the area of a n-sided ploygon, using herods formula, is 3/2 (sn). You don't need theta, or r. Why does the blog ask for permission to view?

You could also use the law of cosine and quadratic formula to define r in terms of s and the angle, but it gets messy. I am not getting the same answer yet. I will keep working on it.
