Think about what this man just did. Not only did he win a tournament packed with super GMs, but he simultaneously kept all of his fans entertained by visiting the confessional on multiple occasions. He was essentially the fourth commentator for God's sake! And on top of that, he won Titled Tuesday on his freaking day off. We have entered a new era of chess, and Hikaru Nakamura is its number one ambassador. Congratulations, Hikaru. You are the man.

Hikaru: "The problem is your bishop on d3 is a problem for the d pawn"

Magnus: "I don't see any issue here"

Hikaru never misses a chance to count pawns in Spanish and show us he can roll his R's

Mad respect for playing such fun openings like the fried liver/knight attack and the King's gambit. Finding intense lines in such classical games is exciting and amazing content. And to win a tournament like this is legendary.

What Hikaru gives after one mont of serious preparation is impressive. He already had acknolowledge Fabiani as the main threat and shows how much his evaluation is good.

I cracked up so hard when Hikaru randomly (but very seriously) started counting pawns in Spanish 😂😂😂

Hikaru, please do whatever's needed to qualify for the candidates. You are in prime position, don't let it slip because of technicalities.
Who knows what can happen, just look at the path Ding made, give it one more shot...

I really can't explain why I'm happy about this, but hey, I am. I will take any joy we can find in these days, this is fantastic. And thanks Hikaru for the annotations, I can kind of follow a little. I'm motivated to improve at the game and enjojying it more than ever.

This game was imo honestly the best played game of the entire tournament. The way you took advantage of Fabis small mistake, and always made sure there was absolutely no counterplay and making the game as “easy” as possible for you. Every fricking single move was literally perfection and so precisely thought through, never playing rushed or being too confident, just playing absolutely amazing chess. I wouldn’t be surprised if computer says it’s 100% accuracy.
Very very few chess players that i know, would be able to play this precise. Congratulations to you on the game and the tournament🎉🥳😎

Es increíble escuchar los comentarios de Nakamura a una de las partidas más importantes de su carrera, y escuchar contar en español los peones no tiene precio, mucha lucidez y profundidad, es un privilegio me está motivando a aprender ingles
