We have talked many times about how the cosmic web might be the Birkeland currents that connect all galaxies together. I speculated whether this actually existed as some of the data for this is based on analysing redshift data. Mainstream models also predict this web of filaments but they believe the cause is the mysterious dark matter causing the clumping effect. Now for the first time ever they have detected a filament that stretches across 50 million light-year and this filament through up some very interesting surprises. Let’s find out more.

I just like the fact that whenever questions pop up from new discoveries, the Electric Universe theory has real answers that make sense and fit well into the overall picture of what we believe the EU to be. Not once has anyone had to come up with the Dark Unicorn Matter or Invisible Fidgit Fields to make something work. Cosmology that makes sense with no added mumbo jumbo in the mix. As always, thanks for your easy to understand explanations! It really helps us "slower" wanna-be scientists to actually "get it" and make sense of things more often.

I'm only just beginning to wrap my head around Birkeland currents (I've had to watch your videos on the subject twice), and plasma physics in general is going to take some time for me to adequately understand, mostly because I spent basically no time learning about them prior to my recent awakening. I spent that time instead on black holes and quantum nonsense, and it is rather curious how much more publicity those subjects get than plasma...

Given the dichotomy of electricity in electronics as "electron flow" and "electron-hole flow, " could we not say a Birkeland Current is "flowing" in BOTH directions?

It would be interesting to compare (not sure there's enough data yet) if the angles you plotted in that image match the angles that Andrew Hall has been describing in his proposal for river channels being carved by electrical discharge through Earth's surface. But then, a 2D view of a 3D event could present as almost any angle, depending on our angle of view. How could that be normalized when we're not even sure if our distance measurements are valid? Or maybe redshift is, partially, proportional distance, while not being useful as a measure of ABSOLUTE distance? That would preserve the shape but leave the scale undetermined.
