I buy blocks of cheese, grate it and put it in freezer storage bags and then take it out a few hours before to want to use it, once it's thawed it's just like fresh cheese.

Being disabled, I really appreciate my breadmaker and other kitchen items that make my life easier. I did get rid of many duplicate things and some sentimental items that I just don't use. 🌞

I put my stained oven mitts and extra dish towels in my camping bin. Nothing delicate goes camping anyways, it will likely get stained on the trip anyways.

For my plastic cutting boards when they get cuts or stains I spray a bit of bleach on them and let them sit in the sink for 10 mins and then wash them. Then the stains are gone abs they are sanitized. I also have separate ones for cutting veggies and raw meat.

If you get cheese that is sealed already meaning you have to cut the plastic around it to use then do not open it but put in the freezer that way. We have always froze cheese when it goes on sale. It becomes crumbly when thawed but someone suggested freezing it after shredding it which i have never tried. You can also freeze milk if you have some that is close to date and use it for chowders and creamed dishes vs letting it go to waste. Love your channel and thanks for your bright sunny outlook on minimalism

I buy cheese by the block and freeze as is. Defrost on the counter before using to maintain texture. You can a shred before or after freezing.
Shredded cheese from the store contains an ingredient to prevent clumping...made from wood pulp! 😨 Block cheese is also less expensive. 🌞

I put all of my duplicate utensils in a plastic shoe box, for extended family gatherings or parties. That way, if it's lost of left behind, at least it's not my "good set."
We're getting ready to do a kitchen Reno, so I'm going thru EVERY THING. Do not recommend waiting until it's complete, to declutter. Declutter before you pack the kitchen up. Saves you a TON of stress.

I have way too many cleaning supplies, an over abundance. I intend to pare down to the basics, good suggestion.

I have a microwave heating plate that we bought when we had our first microwave. We never used it, but I kept it. Four or five microwaves and 40ish years later, I was about to finally get rid of it a couple of months ago when it occurred to me that I could use it as a cutting board. It's perfect. I use it at least once a week now.

Our daughter is almost 16 and we had about 1, 000 kids cutlery, bowls and cups🙄…it all got donated last year.
Can’t help on the cheese, our cheese is never in the fridge long enough to go off 🤷‍♀️

If you have plastic or wooden cutting boards with cuts. If you have an electric sander like the ones with the round sanding pads you can sand them down to a smooth surface. Make sure to clean it really well but now you don't have to throw it out. Ive been able to make plastic cutting boards last years that way and that way you arent constantly worried about the bacteria in the deep gouges

I have a cheese grater and I bought it about a year ago. I buy the blocks of cheese and grate them all the time. I never buy already shedded cheese and it really saves me money and taste so much better. I have also put it in freezer bags and froze it when I catch it on sale. But remember to grate it and make sure it’s in freezer bags not storage bags.

Great tips! Would you consider sharing your “no bread machine” bread recipe? Also, I love the Fabuloso all purpose cleaner. It comes in several scents.

You should get an Instant Pot though. I use mine a lot. Love your spice drawer. For the mitt pot holder I use it to put my curling iron in it when I travel. If it’s still hot when we are ready to leave, just plop it in the mitt and you are good to go!

I have such little space in my kitchen I do not have room for an extra spoon! That little girl is adorable!!! I have an electric kettle, toaster, and a Keurig on a wheeled cart, functions as a tea, coffee and snack cart.

Another borrow it back idea is if your library has a library of things. I donated the last crockpot there.

As for cutting boards, I like having 3: small, big and a special one I only use for raw meat, this way I know, I do not transfer anything from the meat to my salad (I know, its in my head, but my pig-shaped cutting board makes me happy). But I agree, you dont need to many :).
And for cheese, just shred it and freeze, texture will change, but you can use it for pizza/anything, where you want melted cheese.
