I had the good fortune to see Pink Floyd at Yankee Stadium during their 1994 tour. The company I worked for made the 3000 watt lamps used in the rear projection system and they were having starting problems which I traced to the power supply. The run from their generator truck to the power supply could be as much as 600 feet so I recommended a boost transformer to increase the supply voltage. I spent the entire day with the band and during the afternoon they played Sorrow as their sound check. The stage was on home plate and the sound control board was on a raised platform sheathed in plywood on second base. The Salesman that came with me and I were leaning against the plywood when the band started in playing Sorrow. The plywood and my chest were vibrating from those opening base notes coming from two massive speakers on either side of the stage. Before the show we had dinner with the band a huge assortment of Chinese food in the Yankee cafeteria behind the Yankee dugout. the show ran about two and a half hours and I will never forget it.

Я счастлив, что когда то в детстве старший брат познакомил меня с музыкой великих Pink Floyd. Вот уже 40 лет слушаю и наслаждаюсь их гениальным репертуаром. Лучше уже невозможно создать. Это просто космос.

David’s guitar really sounds full of sorrow at the beginning and end of this and other live performances. On the album his guitar is sorrowful just at the beginning.
