I love Kounde, nobody sees how hard of a worker he is. Running up and down the field. Inverting when he needs to, overlapping Lamine to help him, then right away running back on defense. When he gets fouled, no complaints to the ref. when he fouls, slowly jogs back on defence and no complaints to the ref.

I seriously think he is one of the most underappreciated players on the team. His link-up play with lamine and the midfield opens up so much space and options for the attack.

And I like his style ngl. 😅

Tbf moving kounde to right back wasn't some insane suggestion especially with cubarsi coming through the academy it made logical sense given that kounde had the attributes to play right back with how fast he was already and the fact cubarsi was ended up being as good as he is meant it was necessary for the team as a whole when araujo and cubarsi are healthy the best defensive line they have available logically is balde, araujo, cubarsi, kounde and as kounde was the most natural fit of the 3 centre backs at right back of course this worked due to kounde's willingness to accept this is an massive part of why this worked however I don't think it's this massive props to the manager thing because bluntly one of the fastest centre backs in the world who's been playing in the tiki taka system of barca so is good on the ball is inevitably going to be a good fit at wing back.

The thing is, it made sense to move him to Right Back. While obviously not a true sign of a good centre back, Kounde is only 5ft 11”. I know Franco Baresi, Fabio Cannavaro and Carles Puyol were all under 6ft and exceptional centre backs, but the reality is most of the top centre backs are 6ft+ … so with his pace, his ability on the ball, his athleticism, he was gonna be PERFECT at right back
