As a Michigan alum I've come to accept our unwillingness to go after the players to compete against the Georgia's and Alabama's, or (urgh) ohio. I've heard that Michigan's NIL approach basically is "get here and we'll take care of you" vs. chasing HS guys with promises and payouts.
Michigan players fare better in the league, but also fare better in life; I'll take that.

Colin, well spoken Sir! Everything you said was so true especially regarding the academics. A degree from U of M is not easy and the athletes gotta do the work on and off the field! I actually shed a tear when coach Harbaugh came aboard . To all he accolades I believe the highest is he is a true "Michigan Man"!

Colin, you are 100% right that Harbaugh has done it right. He has run a good, clean program in his 7 years and been very consistent. He's developed a culture that players love. I love how he constantly brings the attention to his players and staff -- not himself.

I’ve never been a big Michigan guy, but I always admired that they played real football. When they get beat, it’s because the other team is more talented, not usually because of a coaching decision or playcalling. I think if you gave Harbaugh all the tools that Nick Saban had, he would’ve done just as well, if not better.

And Michigan is absolutely loaded right now on both sides, its unbelievable what Harbaugh has done in the last 3 years, it's coming, see JJ McCarthy this week. Blazing speed with an NFL arm.
OSU is the best over the last 20 years but not they're not the best historically. That would be Michigan.

Thank You Colin! I don''t agree with all of your takes, but when you make a good one you knock it out of the park!

People act like what he's been able to achieve both personally and professionally is easy to do, when they themselves have little to no real commendable achievements.

It's about time someone addressed Michigan's high academic standards. Not anyone can get into Michigan. A lot of top recruits can't even look at Michigan because of their less than stellar academics in high school. Yet Harbaugh still manages to average a Top 10 recruiting class. Imagine Harbaugh's recruiting classes if Michigan accepted any dummy with a GED like ohio state or Bama!

Since the day Jim Harbaugh was announced as the HC, I was excited and have never wanted anyone else.... Seriously, who is more of a Michigan man with his track record of winning....

Michigan made a SOFT schedule to avoid playing challenging teams.
And people STILL find ways to talk about them. Good teams don't need to duck competition.

I do think if saban had stayed in the NFL he would have been alright BUT he's definitely more suited to college. Harbaugh is definitely an underrated overall coach tho even in his own fan base.

Don’t forget in Jim Harbaugh first year at Michigan they beat the hell out of Ohio State and if it wasn’t for his quarterback throwing three interceptions, they would have won that game too

Need to have a Colin vs Paul Feinbaum debate on Harbaugh

As a Mich fan it pains me to say we won't ever compete with the SEC teams just because the school won't commit to winning a national championship because they will have to sell their soul to the devil to do that and their moral compass won't allow them to go down that road. Mich is cool with competing with OSU and winning every 10 years and they good. 🙄

I don't blame Harbaugh for at looking in the NFL last year his hands are tied at the school. Hopefully the new president will help since he's sports friendly.

Michigan state is a northern school that can look down on Harbaugh. Look at his record vs them.
