So excited I own the 4 main boxes, both rivals, confrontations, multiverse, all 8 crossover packs, all crisis, I only don’t have promos, rebirth, and the teen titans go kid version

I will probably get this. I loved the Street Fighter version with the same engine.

I found the weakness cards aren't really a problem, playing 2 consecutive weaknessess doesn't happen much so basically it was pretty much a standard game like the core set. Consequently the characters getting captured didn't happen much and there wasn't really a downside to it... if your character gets captured you just trade it for another, so the Batman who laughs was just this weird section on the table that people only took notice of every now and then...there should be a penalty like the game is lost if 5 heroes are captured...also there is no synergy between the heroes so playing two or three just meant more individual powers to keep track of, more book keeping...and the super-villains only have costs of 9 and 11 so they aren't much of a problem the longer the game progresses...

Would you say this set plays very similar to the original four core games? The simplicity of the original four games is what keeps my small group interested in it, so if it’s more complex, they wouldn’t be too interested. For example, the rivals, injustice, rebirth, and the upcoming justice league Dark had a bit too much into the game for it to be played casually. The original four games have very straightforward rules and mechanics that people who don’t play deck building games can quickly get into. I was wondering if this set was Closer to the core four or the other variants mentioned above

I played this game couples of times, but somehow there is some confusing rules about weakness vs Tomb of Hath (ongoing location card). Which cards must be played first ?

the only thing that confuses is if you draw your 2 weakness in a hand of 5 do you have to use the first and then you lose your turn?

Does the superman hero mean you don't have to end your turn with two weaknesses?

I only play crisis modes, so I'm really hoping that one of these will come for Bat Metal. The thematics are really great in this.

the artwork alone is enough to justify the purchase

Sadly, this is going to be a hard pass for me. I've been collecting all of the DC DBG expansions, and lately they've all just been feeling the same until Rebirth came out. Finally they made something new and interesting, and my group loved it (although the legacy aspect was unnecessary). I was hoping they'd continue supporting this new co-op "board game" campaign format. Dark Nights feels like a step backwards.
